Here’s a fun Newtown trivia fact for you Newtown superfans. We haven’t had a state senator from Newtown in over 100 years!

Rob Blanchard just moved here this summer. People are already calling him a first for Newtown if he wins, but he's been here since July. Before that his whole political career was in Fairfield, on their RTM, and he ran for this same seat from a Fairfield address back in 2024.

Amybeth Laroche has lived here for years and put in the work to become part of our community, not just because an election was coming up. If Newtown's finally going to get one of its own in that seat, I'd want it to be somebody who was already here before anybody started counting votes.

Whatever party you’re registered to, whoever's put in the time here deserves it more than somebody who just landed. That's Amybeth Laroche, not Rob Blanchard.
