To The Editor:

I read Alex Villamil's letter in the October 2nd issue of the Bee with disappointment regarding the debate. I was very much looking forward to a debate between the candidates we will be sending to Hartford.

As public servants who will be making decisions regarding how our tax dollars are spent and what laws we live under they have an obligation to inform us who they are and how they will serve.

Mr. Bolinsky's campaign manager had stated per Mr. Villamil's letter "if voters want information they can go straight to the candidate." That doesn't give us the same picture a debate does.

I have reached out to one of the candidates several times and never received a reply.

Politicians say they are all for transparency. I would like to see it in action.
