Friends Of Newtown Seniors Inc (FONS) is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of Newtown’s seniors through advocacy, education, programs, and critically important services. Because FONS is completely volunteer-driven, your support goes directly toward helping us continue this important work. We receive no membership dues and rely on grants, fundraisers, sponsorships, and — most importantly — the generosity of people like you.

Today, we are asking for your help. Every donation, regardless of size, helps FONS provide programs and services that make a meaningful difference to our senior community. Your contribution helps us respond to needs, create opportunities for seniors to stay connected and engaged, and advocate for issues that affect their quality of life. Over the past year, your support has helped make so much possible. Among our many activities and services, FONS has:

Provided Newtown Rides, our all-volunteer, free transportation program for seniors.

Helped seniors with home repairs and other important needs.

Delivered holiday cards and gifts to seniors who are isolated or lonely through our Outreach Program.

Hosted roundtable discussions on issues that matter to our senior community, including local elections and other topics of interest.

Offered social events and community gatherings, including dinners, our Summer Soirée, Oktoberfest, and our annual membership meeting Pig Roast.

Participated in community events including the Newtown Volunteer Fair, Lions Duck Race, Newtown 250th Anniversary Celebration, Labor Day Parade, Newtown Arts Festival, and the Newtown Health Fair.

Supported community efforts such as the Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive.

Helped keep seniors connected through birthday greetings and regular communication about programs, services, and issues affecting our community.

But perhaps most importantly, FONS is here when seniors need someone to listen, someone to help, and someone to speak up for them.

As we look ahead, the needs of our senior population continue to grow. We want FONS to be there — not only today, but for years to come.
