Letter Of Endorsement
To The Editor,
I’m writing to address several letters published last week in which false narratives were attributed to Mitch Bolinsky.
To those claiming Mitch is anti-woman for not supporting CT Public Act 23-41 (2023), Mitch is on-record voting nay because House Democrats wouldn’t compromise to exempt Catholic colleges like Sacred Heart and Albertus Magnus from mandates contrary to church doctrine.
I’m pro-choice, but believe religious institutions have the right to practice their religion.
School construction funding employs a statutory formula based on a town’s adjusted “Equalized Net Grand List per Capita”. It is non-partisan, not discretionary, and party doesn’t matter. Understanding the construction process to maximize reimbursement rates does not apply in this case.
For over 14 years, Mitch continues to be “at the table”, securing millions in grants and conveyances for Newtown, our schools, roads, recreation, streetscapes, and nonprofits. See for yourself on his MitchForNewtown.com website.
I enthusiastically support Mitch Bolinsky. He’s always been there for Newtown, works respectfully across the aisle on important quality of life issues like special education, senior care, and has truly focused on affordability by never voting to raise taxes.
