Elections Have Consequences XXXIV

To The Editor: The voters have spoken and have made it clear that as a country, we need to go in a different direction. Corruption, cruelty and chaos have been rejected. Elon Musk and the rest of the billionaires were unable to bail out their chosen candidates. Democracy and the rule of law are still important, and it turns out that the goals of Project 2025 and the white, “Christian”, straight male nationalist movement are not that popular after all. We have made it clear to the rest of the world that we the people of the United States do not approve of what Trump has been doing. We will still have Trump in the Oval Office for two more years but hopefully guard rails will be erected to keep him from doing too much more damage. As president he has never once tried to bring this country together — maybe now we can find a way to work around him and do it ourselves. Elections really do have consequences.
