SNAPSHOT ELAINE MORGAN
Occupation: Store manager at the Drug Center. I've been here nine years, and
I've been manager about 7. I'm in charge of all pharmaceutical buying and
over-the-counter products, and employees - making sure everything runs
smoothly.
What do you like best about your job: The flexibility. The people here allow
me to be there for my children if they need me.
Family: I'm married. My husband's name is Alan. We have two children, Heather,
11, and Jonathan, 10.
How long in Sandy Hook: Ten years.
Biggest change in Newtown: The amount of houses being built; the new roads.
Since we moved here there are 10 to 12 new streets/developments on my way
home.
Pets: We have a dog and a cat and a fish. The dog is a black lab/shepherd mix,
Shadow. The cat's name is Lily-Rose - it's my daughter's cat.
Hobbies: I love to fish. I fish in Lake Zoar; we live near the lake. We do a
lot of camping. I like Burlingame, R.I. - it's close to the ocean. I love to
watch old movies. Favorite old movie: I love An Affair To Remember with Cary
Grant. One of my all-time favorites is Wuthering Heights with Lawrence
Olivier. I like tear-jerkers! I've watched Gone With The Wind more times.
Organizations: Girl Scouts. I'm a co-leader with Elaine Drohn for Troop 512
Junior Girl Scouts.
Favorite food: Pasta, any kind of pasta. I grew up on all that Italian food.
Personal philosophy: Life is what you make it. Be attentive to other people's
needs and try to treat them like you would want to be treated. And smile -
life's too short!
