Eva Roman

Beloved Mother

And Grandmother

Eva Roman, 79, died March 23, at her home, after a long battle with cancer, which she fought with courage and grace. She was born July 8, 1930, in Budapest, and survived the Holocaust.

She immigrated to the United States and shortly thereafter married Professor Eric Roman. They moved with their young children to Danbury in 1966, then to Newtown in 1969.

Mrs Roman worked as a rehabilitation counselor at Danbury High School for 30 years, impacting many young lives.

She moved to Santa Monica four years ago after being diagnosed with cancer, and made the most of her time, filling it with friendship, travel, opera, and much laughter.

She is survived by her children, Lynda and Ron; two grandchildren; a large extended family in Budapest; and countless friends.

A memorial service will be held at the Wilshire Boulevard Temple, 3663 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, Friday, April 9, at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to USC Norris Cancer Center/The Eva Roman Memorial Fund, USC/Norris Cancer Center, Room 8302, 1441 Eastlake Avenue, Los Angeles CA 90033.
