Sylvia Blackman Joins William Pitt

Sylvia Blackman

Sylvia Blackman of Newtown is one of 19 new agents William Pitt Real Estate welcomed into the fold this fall, bringing the company-wide total to more than 350 agents.

Named one of the top 50 real estate firms nationwide, William Pitt Real Estate manages an annual portfolio of more than $1.2 billion in 15 offices throughout southwestern Connecticut, including Newtown.

Brokers new to William Pitt undergo a comprehensive two-week “Pitt Start” training program led by Ellen Boyle, director of training, to learn more about the company, its services and the role each agent plays. Guest speakers include professionals from the legal, marketing and financial fields as well as company management and consistent top producers who share their time-tested formulas for success with the new recruits. Topics presented range from discussions on relocation services and time management practices to the tax consequences for independent professionals, how to complete a professional market analysis and self-promotion strategies.

“We give our agents an incredible amount of knowledge in our two-week training programs and knowledge is power,” realtor Ellen Boyle said. “The knowledge they come away with from this program gives these new agents the power to achieve a high degree of financial freedom and success in a relatively short period of time. They leave the course not only believing in the company, but, more importantly, believing in themselves. The company offers on-going professional training to all new and experienced brokers to keep them apprised of any developments and strategies in the marketplace.”

Founded in 1949, William Pitt Real Estate is a full-service real estate company with commercial, residential, insurance, mortgage services, relocation, luxury home and new construction divisions. William Pitt Real Estate is headquartered at 1266 East Main Street in Stamford, Connecticut.
