Malcolm Andrew 'Andy' Bryant
Malcolm Andrew Bryant (Andy), 61, of Newtown, passed away April 27, 2026.
Andy was born in Bridgeport on November 7, 1964, to Malcolm Earl Bryant and Adella Ohradan Bryant. He grew up in Easton, graduating from Joel Barlow High School in 1985 and Western Connecticut State College in 1992.
With a lifelong love of boating, shared with his father, he grew up sailing Long Island Sound and New England shores and dreamed daily of setting sail. Drawn to his warmth and the twinkle in his eye, Andy is remembered as a man who walked through life with his heart on his sleeve.
He married the love of his life, Colleen Reed of Stratford, in 1992 and they settled in Newtown to raise their children Molly and Reed. A man with many talents and jobs including carpentry and sales, he was most recently the dedicated caretaker for Newtown Forest Association properties.
Andy is survived by his wife Colleen Reed Bryant; children Molly Elizabeth Bryant and Reed Andrew Bryant; siblings Daniel M. Bryant, Darin M. Bryant, Amy Bryant Eisenberg and her children, and Elizabeth Bryant Bundock with her spouse Brett Bundock and their children; and a large loving family of cousins of the Valovich, Scharf and Ohradan families.
A gathering to celebrate his life will be held on the grounds of Newtown Forest Association at 65 Great Hill Road, Newtown, on Saturday, May 30, from 6-9 pm (rain date Saturday, June 6, also 6-9 pm). Those planning to attend are asked to bring their own lawn chairs/blankets and beverages to enjoy the beautiful sunset view.
