Lottery Tickets
After learning that police held a warrant for her arrest, Chelsea Stead, 19, of Monroe went to the police station on the afternoon of April 12 and was charged with third-degree larceny, which is a felony, police said.
Police said the arrest stems from their investigation of a January 10 incident in which Stead allegedly stole some unsold lottery tickets while working for her former employer at the Friendly Service Station at 151 South Main Street.
After processing, police released Stead on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court on April 26.
Subaru Damaged
Midday on April 9, the rear bumper of a black 2003 Subaru Forester, which was parked in the parking lot near the Big Y supermarket at Newtown Shopping Village at 6 Queen Street, was struck by another motorist, damaging the Subaru, police report.
Based on the damage, police conclude that the offending vehicle has yellow paint. Police are investigating the case and ask anyone with knowledge of who damaged the Subaru to contact them at the police station at 426-5841.
Sedan Vs SUV
About 8:49 am April 11, motorist Joan Lisi, 61, of New Milford, who was driving a 2004 Toyota RAV-4 sport-utility vehicle westward on Glover Avenue, slowed for traffic conditions, and was then struck from behind by westbound motorist Dawn Emard, 59, of Platts Hill Road, who was driving a 1998 Nissan Altima sedan, police said.
There were no injuries. Emard received a written warning for following too closely.
Sandy Hook Rollover
About 7:30 pm, April 5, motorist Tiffany Lowe, 26, of 138 Underhill Road, who was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu sedan westward near 209 Riverside Road, lost control of the auto, went off the right side of the road and struck an embankment, after which the auto rolled onto is left side, police said.
Ambulance volunteers treated Lowe for pain, police said. Sandy Hook firefighters went to the accident. Lowe received a written warning for making a restricted turn.
Chevrolet Crash
Motorist Kyle Curtis, 17, of Bethel was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Camaro westward and downhill on Plumtrees Road, about 1,000 feet west of its intersection with Taunton Hill Road, at about 12:13 pm April 8, when while Curtis was about to round a curve to the left, an eastbound vehicle entered the westbound lane, police report.
 Curtis took evasive action, struck some curbing, slid sideways and then struck several mailboxes, after which he hit a utility pole and the Chevrolet came to rest positioned across a driveway, police said.
Neither Curtis, nor a passenger, were injured, police said. Curtis received a written warning for a moving violation, police said.
Underhill Road
Police said that on the afternoon of April 12, they investigated a public dispute that happened on Underhill Road in the Riverside section regarding an ongoing issue between two men.
Police said they charged William E. Bolmer, 42, of 68 Church Hill Road with second-degree breach of peace. After processing, they released Bolmer on a written promise to appear in court on April 26.
Youth Incident
Midafternoon on April 12, police responded to a disturbance reported at the Big Y supermarket in Newtown Shopping Village on Queen Street.
Police said a youth under age 16 threw a chair at a Big Y employee inside the supermarket. When police approached, the youth ran off, police said.
Police later located and arrested the youth on charges of second-degree breach of peace and interfering with police.
After processing, police released the youth to a parent for an April 30 appearance in Danbury Juvenile Court. The identities of people under age 18 who are charged with crimes are shielded by state law.
DUI Charge
Police said that at about 2:20 am on April 15, they stopped motorist Lindsey Goodwick, 24, of Maryland, for a motor vehicle violation near the intersection of Route 34 and Pole Bridge Road.
Police said that after investigating, they charged Goodwick with driving under the influence and with a travel lane violation.
After processing the case, police released her on $100 bail for an April 27 court appearance.
Booth Statuary
 Police are investigating a case of vandalism at Booth Library at 25 Main Street, in which someone damaged two statues positioned in a garden there.
Police said the incident of first-degree criminal mischief occurred sometime between April 1 and 9. The vandalism is a felony. Police ask anyone with information on the incident to contact them at 426-5841, or at 270-8888.
Hattertown DUI
Police report they received a telephone call about 1:26 am April 14, informing them that a motorist was driving northward on Hattertown Road with two damaged tires, so they went to the area to investigate.
Police said they found the vehicle with the damaged tires and then stopped it to investigate, after which they charged its driver, Wilma Fearon, 66, of Weston with driving under the influence and with driving with unsafe tires.
Following arrest processing, police released Fearon on $100 bail for a May 1 court appearance.
Church Hill Collision
About 8:07 am April 13, motorist Nancy Barton, 52, of Middlebury, who was driving a 2003 Nissan Altima westward near 40 Church Hill Road, stopped for traffic conditions, police said.
 Westbound motorist Donna Schaaf, 56, of Southbury, who was driving a 2004 Kia Optima, then struck the Nissan from behind, police said. There were no injuries. Schaaf received an infraction ticket for following too closely, police said.
Truck Hits Bridge
Truck driver Javier Martinez, 30, of Waterbury who was driving a 1994 International truck southward on Botsford Hill Road about 4 pm April 11, hit the Housatonic Railroad rail bridge because the truck was too tall to pass beneath the low-clearance structure, police said.
Martinez was not injured. Botsford firefighters went to the accident. Police issued Martinez an infraction ticket for failure to obey posted low-bridge clearance warning signs.

Cold Spring Crash
Motorist Brian Lipofsky, 35, of Monroe, who was driving a 2005 Honda Civic eastward near 7 Cold Spring Road about 4:30 am April 11, while negotiating a curve in the road, crossed into the westbound lane, went off the westbound side of the road and got stuck on a stone wall, police said.
Lipofsky was not injured. Police gave him an infraction ticket for failure to drive to the right on a curve.
Ford Vs BMW
Police report a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Pole Bridge Road and Route 34 about 10:15 am April 13.
Motorist Terri Howard, 48, of Streamwood, Ill., who was driving a 2006 BMW 650 sedan southward on Pole Bridge Road, stopped at a stop sign at its intersection with Route 34, police said. Southbound motorist Garrett Denniston, 56, of 20 Russett Road, who was driving a 2003 Ford F-150 pickup truck, then stopped behind the BMW, police said.
The BMW started to make left turn onto Route 34, but stopped due to traffic conditions, police said. The Ford then struck the BMW from behind, police said. There were no injuries. Police said they issued Denniston a written warning.
Berkshire Road
Motorist Jillian Tevnan, 18, of 44 Little Brook Lane, who was driving a 1995 Acura Integra westward on Berkshire Road about 2:07 pm April 9, started to slow for a traffic control officer who was directing traffic near the Newtown High School driveway, when the Acura was struck from behind by a westbound 2001 Ford Explorer driven by Katelyn DâAquila, 17, of 46 Pond Brook Road, police said.
There were no injuries. Police issued DâAquila a written warning for failure to drive reasonable distance apart.
Nissan Into Pole
About 12:45 am on April 11, a 2000 Nissan Maxima driven by Brian Croaks, 24, of 30 Dodgingtown Road was traveling westward near 100 Taunton Hill Road, when while negotiating a curve, the vehicle crossed the roadâs center line, went off the eastbound road shoulder and then struck a rock and a utility pole, after which it reentered the road, police said.
Police said rear-seat passenger Frank Riccobene, 25, of Fairfield was treated for a head cut at Danbury Hospital. Front-seat passenger Matthew Socci, 21, of 16 Crossbrook Road was not injured, police said.
Police issued Croaks an infraction ticket for failure to drive to the right.
Sandy Hook Thefts
Police report that sometime between 6 pm on April 11 and 7:30 pm on April 12, someone entered an unlocked shed behind a home on Tomahawk Trail in Pootatuck Park and stole an orange KTM lightweight motorcycle and a BMX racing bicycle. The two vehicles have a total value of more than $3,100. The thefts are a case of third-degree larceny, which is felony. Police are investigating and ask anyone with information on the thefts to contact them at 426-5841 or 270-8888.
Mt Pleasant Crash
About 5:49 am, April 16, motorist Thomas McDonald, 29, of 6 Academy Lane, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer sport-utility vehicle westward near 31 Mt Pleasant Road in rainy conditions, when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed into the eastbound lane and then struck a utility pole and a tree on the left side of the road, police said.
McDonald was transported to Danbury Hospital to be treated for injuries, police said. Hook & Ladder firefighters went to the accident. The accident is under investigation, police said.
DUI Arrest
Police report that while on patrol on the afternoon of April 17, they spotted motorist Joseph Miro, 44, of Fairfield swerving while driving a pickup truck on Wasserman Way, so they stopped him to investigate.
Following field sobriety testing, police charged Miro with driving under the influence, failure to have automotive insurance, making a restricted turn, and with a travel lane violation.
Police said they held Miro on $10,000 bail for a court appearance the following day.
Four Charged
Police said a verbal dispute occurred at Hubbell Plastics at 14 Prospect Drive on the afternoon of April 17, after which they charged four people.
Police said they charged Vasilika Lapaj, 44, of Waterbury with second degree breach of peace. She was released on a written promise to appear May 1 in Danbury Superior Court.
Police additionally issued infractions on a charge of creating a public disturbance to: Edmond Halili, 43, of 10 Mile Hill Road South; Piro Lapaj, 50, of Waterbury; and Ergest Lapaj, 20, of Waterbury.
There were no injuries in the incident, police said.
Drug Charges
While on patrol on Wasserman Way on the night of April 17, police encountered a disabled motor vehicle there which was driven by Jovan Brown, 23, of Waterbury.
Police said they brought in their dog to conduct a search of the vehicle, after which the dog located some drugs.
Police charged Brown with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and with driving a motor vehicle without a license.
After he posted $1,000 bail, Brown was released for a May 1 court appearance.

DUI/Reckless
After receiving numerous complaints from motorists about an erratic driver on Route 34, police stopped motorist Peter J. McClammy, 28, of New Haven on Washington Avenue on the afternoon of April 18, to investigate his driving.
After giving McClammy field sobriety tests, police arrested him on charges of driving under the influence and reckless driving.
Following arrest processing, police released McClammy on $100 bail for a May 3 court appearance.
VW Vs Deer
About 6:13 am April 17, while he was driving a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta southward on South Main Street, near its intersection with Huntingtown Road, motorist Michael Nolfi, 49, of 28 Brushy Hill Road encountered a deer than had run out onto the road, police said.
The auto and deer collided, damaging the front end of the vehicle, police said. There were no injuries.
