Youth Charged After Parking Lot Scuffle
A local youth was charged with four criminal offenses late on the night of
June 13 following an incident in the Grand Union supermarket parking lot on
Queen Street, according to police.
Police said patrol officers Christopher Vadas, Aaron Bahamonde and Gary
Wheeler were dispatched to the parking lot at about 10:45 pm to handle a
reported fight.
Vadas observed a large number of people gathered in the parking lot, according
to police.
Police said Vadas approached an apparently intoxicated John Digirolamo, 17, of
8 Diamond Drive, who began swinging at Vadas.
Police transported Digirolamo to the police station where he allegedly became
very loud, threatened police and then kicked Vadas in the shoulder, police
said.
Police charged Digirolamo with assault on a police officer, interfering with
police, breach of peace, and threatening.
Vadas was treated for injuries at Danbury Hospital and released, police said.
After posting a $10,000 bond, police released Digirolamo for a June 26
appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
