Sleep Seminar Set For September 3
Sandy Hook Promise, the nonprofit support and advocacy group founded to support the community post 12/14, will host “Why Sleep Quality Is More Important Than Sleep Quantity,” on Tuesday, September 3, from 5 to 7 pm, in the Lecture Hall of Newtown High School.
Led by board certified sleep specialist Dr Barry Krakow, the workshop will focus on how the quality of sleep impacts daily life and the steps one can take to address mental and emotional causes of insomnia.
The sleep seminar is free and open to the public, although seating is limited.
Dr Krakow is director for the Maimonides International Nightmare Treatment Center in Albuquerque, N.M. He has conducted more than two decades of research into the study of sleep and nightmares, and provides training in management of insomnia and PTSD. He is the author of Sound Sleep, Sound Mind: 7 Keys to Sleeping Through the Night.
