DUI/Warrant
Police report that while on patrol about 1:18 am July 15, they spotted motorist Ingrid Bergquist, 43, of 134 South Main Street driving a 1990 Honda Prelude southward on South Main Street and drifting into the roadâs northbound travel lane.
Police said they stopped the vehicle near Appleblossom Lane to investigate.
Following an interview and field sobriety testing, police charged Bergquist with driving under the influence and failure to drive to the right. After processing, police released Bergquist on $100 bail for a July 28 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
On July 18, after learning that police held a warrant for her arrest, Bergquist turned herself in at the police station and was charged with failure to appear in court, driving while under suspension, driving without automotive insurance, driving an unregistered vehicle, and making an improper turn.
Those motor vehicle charges stem from a May 14 accident, in which an auto that Bergquist was driving went off Key Rock Road and struck a utility pole, according to police.
After posting $1,000 bail, police released Bergquist for an August 2 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Botsford Hill Crash
A one-car rollover accident occurred on Botsford Hill Road about 9 pm July 14.
Motorist Ravi Krishnamoorthy, 35, of Danbury was driving a 2004 Ford Taurus when the vehicle went out of control while making a left turn, police said. The auto then struck an embankment and rolled over onto its roof.
Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps members went to the accident and checked out Krishnamoorthy, passenger Pankaj Shah, 36, of Atlanta, Ga., and passenger Ramesh Padmanabhan, 40, of Danbury, police said. Shah reported a wrist injury, police said. All three occupants were released at the scene by ambulance staffers.
Botsford firefighters also responded. Police issued Krishnamoorthy an infraction ticket for making a restricted turn.
Huntingtown Accident
Motorist Karyn Anderson, 20, of Bridgeport was driving a 1997 Honda Civic coupe southward near 197 Huntingtown Road about 10:12 pm July 12, when she swerved to avoid colliding with a deer, but entered the northbound lane, went off the road and struck a stone wall twice, police said. The auto rolled onto its side and then rolled back onto its wheels, police said.
 Firefighters went to the accident. Ambulance volunteers transported Anderson to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries, police said. Police said the accident is under investigation.
Warrant
After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Michael Benzinger, 19, of 10 Stuart Drive turned himself over to police at the police station on July 15 and was charged with third degree burglary and third degree larceny. Both charges are felonies. The arrest stems from a February 9 incident, according to police.
After posting $2,500 bail, police released Benzinger for a July 28 arraignment on the charges in Danbury Superior Court.
Off The Road
At about 6:30 am July 17, police were called to Taunton Hill Road, near Wedgewood Court, on a report of a vehicle off the road.
Police said they learned that the vehicle had been driven for approximately three-quarters of a mile to that location while its front wheels had no tires on them, but only rims. There was no driver at the vehicle when police arrived.
An investigation indicated that the driver had gone off the road, struck curbing, hit a stone wall, and then went into a flower garden.
Police said they later located the driver at his home and charged Shawn Milburn, 23, of Bethel with reckless driving, evading responsibility, and making a restricted turn.
Milburn posted $50 bail and was released for an August 2 court appearance.
Route 34 DUI
At about 11:18 pm July 15, police said they were patrolling on eastbound Route 34 behind a 1994 Ford Escort that was swerving into the westbound lane, so they stopped it to investigate.
Police said they gave motorist Plutarco Marin, 39, of Danbury field sobriety tests, after which they charged him with driving under the influence, drinking alcohol while driving a motor vehicle, and failure to drive to the right.
Marin posted $100 bail after which he was released for a July 26 court appearance.
Moving Violations
About 7:48 pm July 17, police spotted motorist Nazia Khan, 21, of Stratford drive through a red traffic signal at the intersection of Queen Street and Church Hill Road, so they stopped her.
Police charged Khan with failure to obey a traffic signal and with driving while under suspension.
After processing the arrest, police released Khan on a written promise to appear in court on August 4.
South Main DUI
Police report that a passing motorist called them to alert them that a 1994 Ford Ranger pickup truck was being driven erratically along South Main Street about 8:30 pm July 15, so they investigated.
Police said that they observed that vehicle back into a stationary object at a package store parking lot at 111-113 South Main Street and then leave the scene without stopping.
Police said they stopped motorist Fred Lang, 38, of 28 Taunton Ridge Road and gave him field sobriety tests, after which they charged him with driving under the influence. Police released Lang on $200 bail for an August 2 court appearance.
Chevrolet Vs Toyota
Police report that a two-vehicle accident occurred about 8:30 am July 15 on Botsford Hill Road, near its intersection with South Main Street.
Motorist Martin Maciag, 63, of 7 Skidmore Lane, who was driving a Chevrolet Monte Carlo, was backing up on westbound Botsford Hill Road and backed into a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck driven by Anthony Dellaquilla, 74, of 85 Great Ring Road, which was exiting the driveway at 1 Botsford Hill Road, police report.
There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Maciag for improper backing.
Country Club Road
About 3:16 pm July 15, motorist Annemies Sneideman, 57, of 7 Ford Road, who was driving a 2004 Volkswagen Beetle southward on South Main Street, was slowing for traffic, police said.
At that time, motorist Max Margulies, 17, of 79 High Rock Road, who was driving a 2004 Subaru Legacy station wagon northward on South Main Street, was preparing to make a left turn onto Country Club Road, police report.
The two vehicles collided. There were no injuries. Police gave Margulies a written warning for making a restricted turn.
Honda Vs Mercedes
Motorist Steven Panos, 38, of New Milford, who was driving a 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-320 northward on South Main Street about 3:11 pm July 15, slowed and then stopped to allow a noncontact vehicle to make a maneuver, police said.
Northbound motorist Christopher Hessenius, 18, of Brookfield, who was driving a 1992 Honda Accord, then drove into the rear end of the Mercedes, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Hessenius an infraction ticket for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Queen Street DUI
Police said that at about 8:17 pm July 16, they spotted motorist David Kiss, 50, of Monroe driving erratically on Queen Street, so they stopped him to investigate.
Police said that due to Kissâs intoxicated condition, they had the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transport him to Danbury Hospital.
Police later arrested Kiss on charges of driving under the influence and failure to drive to the right.
Kiss was released from custody on a written promise to appear August 3 in Danbury Superior Court.
Drug Arrest
State police said that after stopping Tyler C. Dotter, 20, of 16 Merlinâs Lane about 12:45 am July 13 on Church Hill Road in connection with an ongoing criminal investigation, it was learned that Dotter possessed prescription medication without its original container.
State police charged Dotter with possession of prescription medication without its original container and with possession of drug paraphernalia.
State police said they held Dotter on $2,500 bail for a court appearance later that day.
Drug Charges
State police said that during a routine check of the Hawleyville Road commuter parking lot, near Exit 9 of Interstate 84, at about 4:16 am July 13, they found Joseph Costa, 18, of Waterbury there. On investigating, state police charged Costa with possession of marijuana and with possession of drug paraphernalia. State police released Costa on $1,000 bail for an August 1 court appearance.
Multiple Charges
State police said that while on patrol on westbound Interstate 84 about 5:30 pm July 12, they stopped motorist Maria Moreira, 36, of Danbury to investigate.
 State police charged Moreira with improper use of marker plates, theft of marker plates, driving without automotive insurance, driving while under suspension, and driving an unregistered vehicle. State police released Moreira on $5,000 bail for an August 1 court appearance.
Huntingtown Road
Police said they were dispatched to Huntingtown Road about 11:26 am July 19 on a report of a person wandering in the road.
On arriving, police said they stopped pedestrian Adam Solinas, 26, of 137 Huntingtown Road and questioned him, but he provided false information. Police said they charged Solinas with interfering with police and with possession of drug paraphernalia.
After releasing Solinas on those charges for an August 2 court appearance, police turned over Solinas to Southbury police who held a warrant for his arrest.
Vandalism
Sometime between 5:30 pm July 13, and 3:15 pm July 14, someone threw a large rock through the windshield of a maintenance truck parked at Village Cemetery at 18 Elm Drive, police report. The truck, which is owned by the cemetery, received an estimated $2,000 in damage to its windshield and hood, police said.

Rear-End Collision
At about 7 pm on July 20 on westbound Interstate 84âs Exit 10 off-ramp, motorist Michael Sullivan, 19, of 16 Rockywood Drive, who was driving a 2001 Jeep Cherokee, struck the rear end of a 1996 Toyota Corolla driven by Carol Farmer, 59, of Brookfield, police said. There were no injuries. Police said they issued Sullivan a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

Youth Charged
Police report that while on patrol about 1 am on July 21, they spotted Andrew Bolmer, 17, of 31 Swamp Road while he was walking southward near 97 South Main Street, so they stopped him to investigate. Police said they charged Bolmer with possession of drug paraphernalia because he possessed a glass pipe that is used for smoking marijuana. Police released Bolmer on a promise to appear in court on August 3.
