OBITS (Coney; Anderson; Malouff)

Dennis M. Coney

Dennis M. Coney, 43, of Newtown, died June 1 in Danbury Hospital, shortly

after being stricken ill at his home. He was employed by Responces Insurance

Company in White Plains, N.Y.

Mr Coney was the husband of Susan (Heller) Coney and resided at 46 Pond Brook

Road. He was born in South Bend, Ind. on July 27, 1955, son of Lois

(Nestlerode) Coney of Leesburg, Fla. and the late Harlow Coney. He graduated

from Indiana University with a bachelor of arts degree.

A resident of Newtown for two years, he was a member of the Newtown United

Methodist Church. He was a member of the American Institute of Certified

Public Accountants.

He is survived, besides his wife and mother, by a son, Kyle Coney and a

daughter, Kelly Coney, both of Newtown; a brother, Douglas Coney of Mishawaka,

Ind.; and two sisters, Karol Hoipkimier and Kathy Bushkiewicz, both of South

Bend, Ind.

Funeral services will be held at the Grace United Methodist Church, South

Bend, Ind., June 7. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery, South Bend, Ind.

Calling hours will be held at the Hay Funeral Home, 435 South Ironwood Drive,

South Bend, Ind., June 6 from 4 to 8 pm.

Contributions in his memory may be made to American Heart Association, 5

Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492.

Local arrangements are by Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.

Gunnar Anderson

Gunnar Anderson, 88, of Fairfield, died May 28 in St Vincent's Medical Center,

Bridgeport. He was the brother of Alvar Anderson of Newtown.

Born in Bridgeport, Mr Anderson lived in Fairfield all of his life. He was a

building contractor in Fairfield for 20 years before retirement. He then

became the clerk of works for the Canada Dry Company in New York and Canada

and performed the same duties for the Town of Fairfield at both town

libraries, the Police Station, the old Town Hall, Grasmere, Mill Hill, and

Tomlinson High Schools; the Fairfield University Finance Center, the City of

Milford Court House and the United Methodist Home in Shelton.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Tillie Anderson of Fairfield; a son,

Jonathan R. Anderson of Milford; grandchildren, Kristin and James Anderson of

Milford; and several cousins in Sweden. He was predeceased by a son, Roger

Anderson; and two brothers, Walter and Rolland Anderson.

A graveside service was held June 1 in Oaklawn Cemetery, Fairfield, with the

Rev David J. Devries officiating.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.

The Spear Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield, was in charge of

arrangements.

LeRoy J. Malouff

LeRoy J. Malouff, 57, of Sun City, Hilton Head, S.C., formerly of Newtown,

died May 24 at St Joseph Hospital in Savannah, Ga. Mr. Malouff lived on Brushy

Hill Road before moving to South Carolina.

He was the husband of Patricia (Ballard) Perkins Malouff.

Mr Malouff graduated from the University of Colorado and retired after 34

years at Black and Decker where he was director of engineering of the

housewares division.

He is also is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Miller of Highlands Ranch,

Colo.; a son, Christopher James Malouff of Denver, Colo.; his father- and

mother-in-law, Win and Gertrude Ballard of Newtown; seven grandchildren,

Nicholas, Rebecca, Alexander and Elizabeth Miller, Rusty, Matthew, Kolyse

Malouff; his mother, Zelma Malouff of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Lila Mae

Bartlo of Trinidad, Colo. and Cheryl Vallejas of Tucson, Ariz.; his

stepchildren, Debra Elaine Kaharik, Capt James G. Perkins and Daniel Perkins;

and three step-grandchildren, Edward Kaharik, Thomas and Matthew Perkins.

A memorial service was held May 26 at St Andrews Church in Bluffton, S.C.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Care of the Low Country, 20

Palmetto Parkway, Suite 104, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926.

The Island Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
