Obama Disasters

To the Editor:

Islamic terrorists are no longer terrorists. The War on Terror is now called an “overseas contingency operation.” Returning war veterans and conservative individuals are, however, referred to by the Obama administration as “potential terrorists.” Communist tyrants Chavez, Ortega, and the Castro brothers are Obama’s buddies. Every day there is something new coming from him or his cohorts that is destructive to the American way of life. Today’s issue is cap and trade.

This policy will tax every American business based upon its carbon usage. These taxes will then be passed on to each of us by these firms. Our socialist president will then redistribute this money based upon his and Jeremiah Wright’s liberation philosophy. This will lead to skyrocketing energy costs.

A George C. Marshall Institute study estimates that cap and trade will raise electricity costs between 5 percent and 15 percent. Gasoline will rise between 16 cents and $2.58 per gallon. Natural gas prices will rise by 12 percent to 50 percent.

Many scientists, however, do not believe in global warming. Go to petitionproject.org. There you’ll find 31,478 scientists (9,029 PhDs) who state: “There is no convincing evidence that the human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing, or will, in the foreseeable future cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere or destruction of the Earth’s climate.” They go on to state that carbon dioxide may produce beneficial effects; yet, our government is ready to sacrifice our way of life on the false concept of global warming.

Remember the heart-rending pictures of the polar bears on the shrinking ice flows. Conservative columnist George F. Will states in a February 2009, editorial that measurements of the Earth’s temperature for the last ten years have been cooler than normal. Regarding sea ice, he states: “...the US National Snow and Ice Data Center reported that from January until the middle of February of this year, a defective performance by satellite monitors that measure sea ice caused an underestimation of the extent of the Arctic ice by 193,000 out of Australia stated that sea ice is increasing in Antarctica.”

More and more Republican and Democratic politicians, afraid of losing votes because of rising energy costs, are deciding to vote against cap and trade. No problem for the Obama group. They will bypass Congress and push through cap and trade by using Environmental Protection Agency regulations to make it the law of the land!

Regarding another Obama promise, do you want government health care? Google the London Daily Mail. Search denial of cancer treatments, denial of surgeries, NHS, waiting time, etc, and you’ll discover another potential Obama disaster!
