Jane M. (Beardsley) Spakowski, 82, of Southbury, died September 17, at home, with her children by her side. She was born September 27, 1927, in Southbury, the daughter of Vest (Douglass) and Ernest âDeckâ Beardsley. She was the widow of George Spakowski.
Three children, including George Spakowski, and his wife, Tammy, of Sandy Hook; four grandchildren; a sister; and four great-grandchildren survive Mrs Spakowski. One son and two brothers predeceased her.
Mrs Spakowski worked at Waterbury Brass Mill and was the past permittee of the Southford Package Store. She was a part-time rural route carrier for the US Postal Service in Southbury and was the first city mail carrier in Heritage Village, until she retired.
She loved to go to Granite Lake in New Hampshire with her grandchildren, and was an avid Indian memorabilia collector. She enjoyed shopping, getting her hair done, and going to the casino.
A funeral service was held September 22. Burial followed in Southford Cemetery.
