Business Planning Class For Start-Ups Convening

WATERBURY — Women’s Business Development Center is a leader in entrepreneurial training, and its representatives know what is involved in launching and growing a small business. In the past 13 years, WBDC has assisted clients with launching hundreds of businesses.

Through the WBDC’s FastTrac New Venture Business Planning Class for Start-Ups, participants work on their own business ideas or ventures, moving their venture to reality or new levels of growth with help from instructors and guest speakers/counselors.

Designed for the aspiring business owner, FastTrac New Venture focuses on matching participants’ business development needs to the business plan they develop, to make their vision a reality.

The program includes nine, three-hour classes, plus three additional counseling sessions after completion of course work. Sessions include:

*Review of Business Concept/Business Plan Elements/Setting Financial Goals

*Identifying and Meeting Market Needs, and Researching and Analyzing the Market

*Planning the Product or Service

*Reaching the Market

*Building the Organizational Team/Legal

*Planning for a Profitable Business

*Monitoring Cash Flow and Seeking Funds

*Business Advisory Networking

*Implementing Next Steps

Sessions are also offered at two locations:

In Stamford at the University of Bridgeport on Wednesdays, October 6, 13, 20, 27; November 3, 10, 17; and December 1 and 8.

And in Waterbury at the Naugatuck Valley Community College, Thursdays October 7, 14, 21, 28; November 4, 18; and December 2, 9 and 16

Programs run from 6 to 9 pm at both locations. WBDC is now accepting applications for enrollment.

Eligibility Requirements: Must have a defined business concept.

Registration and material fee upon acceptance into the program is $200, but material fee discounts are available via scholarships to those who qualify based on income guidelines.
