Newtown Prevention Council Seeks New Members
Newtown Prevention Council Co-Chair Beth Agen said recently the group is seeking new members for a larger variety of input for the group. According to the group, the Newtown Prevention Council is a group of individuals who represent diverse agencies, groups, sectors, and interests within the community that are concerned with quality of life issues, including substance abuse.
âNPC believes that prevention education and efforts cannot begin too early and that communication among the schools, parents, and our youth regarding substance use is essential,â according to its website. The Newtown Prevention Council meets five times a year, and the next meeting is scheduled for March 18, from 3 pm until 5 pm ,in the meeting room of the C.H. Booth Library on Main Street.
