Summer Reading Volunteer Training will be Tuesday, June 5, or Wednesday, June 6, from 4 to 4:45 pm. Students entering grades 7â12 in the fall who would like to volunteer for the summer reading program are required to attend a brief training session. Volunteers from previous years are not required to attend the training, but they still need to fill out an application form. The summer reading program uses volunteers to listen to children discuss the books they are reading and reward incentives. Volunteers are scheduled according to their availability. Summer reading begins June 26 and ends August 18. All volunteer applications are due on or before June 13. Late applications will be added to our substitute list.
