NUMC Planning For Its Annual Autumn Fair

Newtown United Methodist Church will sponsor its Annual Fall Arts & Crafts Fair on Saturday, October 17.

The fair will be at Reed Intermediate School, 3 Trades Lane in Newtown, so it will be presented from 10 am until 4 pm without worry about rain or shine.

The annual event by members of the church will offer juried arts and crafts, a silent auction, baked goods, theme baskets, and more.

Amy and Bob Nosal’s Poverty Hollow Primitives will be returning with country primitive furniture and accessories featuring 18th and 19th Century reproduction designs. Each piece is handcrafted in the couple’s Newtown workshop using both hand and power tools and then finished with a five-step process using Old Village paints over black to achieve the antique, primitive look.

Among the many items for sale will be a tall, narrow chimney cupboard (pictured), stacking trunks that nest, primitive candle trays and toolboxes, and unique bird feeders made from recycled aluminum ware and antique balusters.

For additional fair information call event organizer Debbie Stakel, 426-2336, or the church office at 426-9998.
