Newtown High School's boys' golf team won its second consecutive South-West Conference championship, at Danbury's Ridgewood Country Club, on May 27.
The Nighthawks, as a team, finished with a score of 325 on the 18-hole course. Newtown's Colin Patrick shot a 74 to earn medalist honors.
Coming off a 10-4 regular season, in which two of their defeats were by just one stroke, the Nighthawks retained their SWC bragging rights by defeating a Joel Barlow of Redding squad that went unbeaten during the regular season, along with tough Pomperaug of Southbury and Masuk of Monroe lineups.
