National Recognition For St Rose Cub Scouts Pack 570
National Recognition For
St Rose Cub Scouts Pack 570
St Rose Cub Scout Pack 570 celebrated its annual Blue and Gold dinner and awards ceremony on March 24. More than 150 people attended the evening events.
The highlight of the evening was when St Rose Pack 570 was presented with the Gold Medallion Award, given by the National Catholic Committee on Scouting. St Rose is the only Cub pack in New England (Region #1) to have earned the award this year. There are only 15 of these awards given out annually.
The Gold Medallion Award program is established to identify and recognize the outstanding Catholic Scouting units. The National Gold Medallion winners epitomize those units that excel at providing youth with quality programs including religious activities, religious emblems participation, outdoor activities, and special events that encompass the religious, vocational, and educational aspects of Scouting under Catholic auspices.
Father Bob Weiss, the pastor of St Rose, was presented with a certificate and a three- by five-foot Gold Medallion unit flag. Officials from the National Catholic Committee on Scouting attended the Blue and Gold Evening to present the award to Father Bob.
Last year Pack 570 earned The Pope Paul VI Award, another National Catholic Quality Unit award.
