Learning At Trinity Series-One Day Workshop With Reverend Barbara Cawthorne Crafton
Learning At Trinity Seriesâ
One Day Workshop With
Reverend Barbara Cawthorne Crafton
Trinity Episcopal Church will host a special program, âA Closer Walk with God: For People on the Runâ on Saturday, March 24. A day with the Reverend Barbara Cawthorne Crafton, the program will run from 9:30 am to 3 pm in the churchâs undercroft.
Many people want to feel closer to God but do not know how to begin, said the program sponsor, adding that many modern people feel that their prayer is inadequate, that they want to pray but do not quite know how. In the seminar, participants will explore ways in which busy people with a lot on their plates can find the spiritual practices that are right for them.
Barbara Cawthorne Crafton is an Episcopal priest, retreat leader, spiritual director, and author of many books. Among other ministries, she has been a chaplain on the waterfront of New York and at Ground Zero during the recovery effort and served several churches, including historic Trinity, Wall Street.
Her books, articles, and radio scripts have won many awards; she appears frequently on television, both as preacher and commentator. Rev Crafton maintains a free subscription service to her popular email essays, âThe Almost Daily EMoâ at her website GeraniumFarm.org. The motto there reflects her approach to the spiritual life: âDown to Earth Support for Living.â
Cost for the seminar is $30 ($10 for members of Trinity Episcopal Church), which includes a sandwich lunch.
Registration and payment must be received by Monday, March 12. Mail (with check made out to Trinity Church) to Crafton retreat, Trinity Episcopal Church, 36 Main Street, Newtown CT 06740. Call 426-9070 or send an email to Trinity@TrinityNewtownCT.org for further information.
