'Magic Flute' Performed At Fraser-Woods
âMagic Fluteâ Performed At Fraser-Woods
The Fraser-Woods School students from kindergarten through third grade recently presented a storyteller production of Mozartâs The Magic Flute, an opera that was written to appeal to music lovers of all ages, especially children. The story of The Magic Flute is complete with dragons, princes, princesses, an evil queen, wise men, and many magical beasts. There are trials of silence, of fire, and water all embodied within the beautiful melodic score which was specially adapted for The Fraser-Woods School by Clay Zambo.
The kindergarten through eighth graders at the Montessori school studied classical music as the theme of this yearâs cultural program.
A second play, the full production of The Magic Flute, will be performed by the students in fourth through eighth grade next month at the Playhouse on the Green Theater in Bridgeport. Newtown resident, former actress, and voice teacher Mary Jo Duffy is the director for both productions with the schoolâs music teacher Laurie Haskins as musical director.
