Retreat At Wisdom House, March 3
LITCHFIELD â âArchetypes and African American Spirituality,â a retreat day conducted by the Reverend Carolyn Fleming-Sawyerr, will be presented at Wisdom House on Saturday, March 3, from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.
The program will examine images, thoughts, symbols, and themes foundational to the African American faith experience and their relevance to current practices and beliefs. Emphasis will be given to the role of the mother, dreams, and their portrayal in film, sacred texts, story, and metaphors.
Rev Sawyerr, an ordained Baptist minister, is director of training for the pastoral services department of Hartford Hospital. She is a graduate of Yale University Divinity School and Seton Hall University Law School.
Fee for the program is $25 and includes lunch.
