*Three musicians of the legendary rock group YES have united to take The More Drama Tour across North America, and they will make a Connecticut stop at Mohegan Sun Arena on Thursday, August 25.

Guitarist Steve Howe, bassist Chris Squire and drummer Alan White are hitting the road along with keyboardist Geoff Downes (formerly of The Buggles and Asia) for the tour, which is one-part celebration for the August release of Yes’s DVD 35th Anniversary: Songs from Tsongas (recorded live at The Tsongas Arena in Lowell, Mass.) and one part celebration for the release, also in August, of The Word Is Live, a new box set of live Yes performances.

Tickets for the Mohegan Sun show are going on sale Saturday afternoon at 2 pm, and have been priced at $22.50 and $32.50. TicketMaster vendors will handle all sales.

*Tickets for TORI AMOS’ next return to the state, on August 16 at the Oakdale Theatre, will be on sale as of 10 am Friday (June 24). All seats are $40; call 203-265-1501 or TicketMaster.

*MARY BETH AND GARY SIPPIN of Newtown and their band GOLDRUSH will begin their summer concert series this weekend with a show on Sherman Green in the town of Fairfield. Showtime is 7 pm. Goldrush combines traditional and contemporary country, western swing, bluegrass and rockabilly to create their own energetic sound.

The band’s next show will be Sunday, July 10, also at 7. This time they’ll be playing an opening set at Ives Concert Park in Danbury the same night THE CHIEFTAINS will be headlining. Tickets for that show are available through the Ives Concert Park’s box office, which is on the westside campus of Western CT State University, and also through TicketMaster vendors. Tickets are $20 for adults on the lawn, $10 for children on the lawn, and $40 or $55 reserved.

The band also has shows set up for July 24 in Monroe, August 21 in Westbrook, September 11 at Bethlehem Fair, and September 23 at Durham Fair. Additional details as they become available will be posted on the band’s website, www.GoldrushMusic.com.

*Woodbury Ski Area has announced dates and details for its 34th annual REGGAR FEST. This year’s festival will be Saturday and Sunday, July 16-17, at the ski area on Route 47. Music will run from noon until 8 pm each day, with gates opening at 10 am.

Tickets are $40 in advance for both days, $25 per day in advance, or $30 per day at the gate; call 203-263-2203 or visit www.WoodburySkiArea.com.

Bands scheduled to perform include PETE SCHIEPS BAND, BLACK REBELS and LOOSE CABOOSE. More bands are expected to be announced.

Also, arts and crafts vendors can still contact the ski area about participating in the festival.

*Shows recently added to the calendar at The Webster Theatre include JEFFREY GAINES on Friday, July 29 (in The Webster Underground); THE BLOODHOUND GANG and TROY WALSH, August 4; LUCKY BOYS, CONFUSION, THE WORKING TITLE, MELEE and DROPPING DAYLIGHT, August 6; CRAIG GRASS, also in The Underground, August 7; FINCH, RX BANDITS and A STATIC LULLABY, August 19; and MURPHY’S LAW, September 30 in The Underground.

*Unsurprisingly, the Connecticut stop next month for BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN’s Devils And Dust Tour is sold out.

I have to apologize to anyone who may have gone to the box office in Bridgeport last Saturday morning to purchase tickets. The information printed in my column last week was what I had been given by the arena’s press office. I don’t know when the change from in-person lottery sales was changed to TicketMaster phone and Internet sales.

I can’t apologize enough for that, and I hope the information that appeared in The Bee last week did not cause any inconvenience or that anyone missed out on tickets for this show because of that. Please know that I strive to present correct information in every story, cutline and column I write.

Until next week I’ll be seeing you... on the road.

Questions and comments should be sent to Shannon Hicks c/o The Newtown Bee, 5 Church Hill Road, Newtown CT 06470, or shannon@thebee.com, or call the office at 426-3141. Shows listed at club locations are for ages 21 and over unless specified.
