Lean And Six Sigma In The Service Industry

The Danbury Chapter of APICS, the Association for Operations Management, will be having its annual Top Management Night at the professional development meeting on Wednesday, May 6, 6 pm, at the Student Center at Western Connecticut State University.

The topic, “Quality, Six Sigma, and Lean in the Service Industry — Activities at the Danbury Hospital” will be presented by Terry Manning, CSSBB CQA.

The presentation will address the use of both Lean and Six Sigma to create a system with greater capacity to “delight” the customer while producing services that deliver the right service to the right person at the right time.

Top Management Night is an annual event where members bring their bosses to the meeting and both attend as guests of the chapter. As senior management commitment is critical to successful implementation of both Lean and Six Sigma, the topic is of particular importance to senior managers. Dinner will follow the presentation; reservations are required for dinner.
