Calogero J. Ingala

Calogero J. (Chuck) Ingala, 69, of 148 Caver Street, Waterbury, died April 11 at St Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury. He was the widower of Carmela (Maturo) Ingala.

He was the father of Terri Greenfield of Newtown.

Chuck Ingala was born in Waterbury, November 28, 1930, a son of the late Calogero and Catherine (Brucolari) Ingala.

During the Korean War, he served as gunner on a P-29 for the US Air Force.

Before his retirement, he had worked for 30 years at White Trucks and then for ten years at Murphy Transportation.

Survivors also include a son-in-law, Ken Greenfield of Newtown; two brothers, Vincent Ingala of Wolcott and Angelo Ingala of Alabama; two sisters, Theresa DellaCroce of Waterbury and Grace Hernandez of Florida; four grandchildren, Leslie, Michelle, Joseph, and Dana Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Joseph Ingala.

A funeral procession will leave at 8 am Friday, April 14, from the Colasanto Funeral Home, 932 Bank Street, Waterbury, for a 9:30 am Mass at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday, April 13, from 4 to 8 pm.

Charitable donations in memory of Calogero J. Ingala may be made to the American Lung Association of Connecticut, 45 Ash Street, East Hartford, CT 06108.
