Woman's Club Says Thanks
Womanâs Club Says Thanks
To the Editor:
The Newtown Womanâs Club (GFWC, Inc) held its first, very successful silent auction on Saturday, March 20, at the C.H. Booth Library, âBountiful Baskets and Beautiful Things.â It was successful because of the generosity and cooperation of innumerable people who we would like to acknowledge and thank:
The club members who filled the baskets with an incredible variety of fantastic items; the club members who supported the event in other ways such as providing the hors dâoeuvres; Peter Obre whose music was a delight to the ears, as always; the Yankee Wine and Spirits for the wine for the tasting and Bill who was the charming and well-informed wine steward; the people who came, saw, and bid on the items in the silent auction; the library staff for allowing us to use their lovely facility.
All of the proceeds from this event will benefit many of the agencies in Newtown that depend on donations in order to function and serve the community in many ways. That is the reward for all who were involved in this venture.
Thank you,
The Ways and Means Chairpersons
of the Newtown Womanâs Club (GFWC, Inc)
