A Great Time For A Good Cause
A Great Time For A Good Cause
To the Editor:
It has been said that we are most generous in our giving when weâre having a good time. The attendees at the 13th Annual Summer Breakfast sponsored by the Newtown Chapter of Regional Hospice on June 14 at the Fireside Inn were obviously having a great time as they gathered to celebrate this most humanitarian cause. We wish to acknowledge those responsible for our most successful event to date.
* To the hosts/hostesses who donned the aprons and served their guests with such charm and wit.
* To Judge William J. Lavery, Jr, our guest speaker, who touched us all by sharing his most personal hospice experience.
* To the guests who gave so generously on behalf of the hospice ideal.
* To our local businesses and individuals who so willingly offered such fantastic items for raffle prizes including Berkshire Motors, Sara Cannrick, Curves for Women, Edmond Town Hall Board of Managers, Envisage Skin Care Boutique, Good Taste Specialty Foods, Karenâs Fitness Studio, Lexington Gardens, McGeorgiâs Antiques, McLaughlin Vineyards, Ruth Newquist, Newtown Car Wash, Newtown Power Equipment, Newtown Womanâs Club, Olde Newtown Tavern, Linda and Virginia Parsloe, R&B Enterprises, Ricciâs Salon & Spa, Sandy Hook Wine and Liquor, Shaverâs Garden Center, JoAnn Simon, Swenson Granite Works, The Little Green Barn, The Mill Antiques, Barbara Urbanski, and Villarinaâs.
* To those who so unselfishly donated their time and talents including Jody Murphy, Karen Murphy of Petal Pushers, Newtown Police Department and Diana, the balloon expert at Stop & Shop.
* To all who gave of their time, energies, and monies in the real sense of community spirit.
We sincerely applaud you.
