Holiday Weekend Event: Annual Festival of Trees Lights Up The Library
During Newtown’s 33rd Annual Holiday Festival, the C.H. Booth Library housed the Festival of Trees portion of the event throughout two of its rooms on December 2.
According to Newtown Youth & Family Services Executive Director Candice Bohr, this year, there were 68 submissions from individuals, business, and civic organizations, some of which submitted multiple designs.
Ms Bohr said there were both live and faux trees on display and that all submissions had to be under 6 feet tall to qualify.
Each of the donated wreaths and trees for the raffle were customized with decorations that included a variety of themes. There were trees with classic elements like candy canes, tinsel, and miniature nutcrackers; nautical pieces like shells and starfish; and even whimsical wonders with Peanuts characters and toy trucks.
All proceeds raised went to benefit Newtown Youth & Family Services, whose mission is to support local children and families to help them achieve their highest potential.
