SELECTMAN FILL VACANCIES

The Board of Selectmen made three appointments to boards and commissions

Wednesday night.

Selectman James Smith was reappointed to serve a three-year term on the

Newtown Health District board, ending June 30, 1998. Mr Smith currently is the

chairman of that board.

Thomas Paisley was appointed as a Planning and Zoning Commission alternate to

serve the remainder of a four-year term which expires December 1. He replaces

Stephen Adams, a P&Z alternate who was tapped to fill the rest of the term of

P&Z member Joseph Stalk, who resigned recently.

Paul DesBeiens was appointed to serve a term on the Public Building and Site

Commission ending January 1, 1998. Mr DesBeiens had been an alternate on the

commission.
