Paintings By Alvarez At Roxbury Library
Paintings By Alvarez At Roxbury Library
ROXBURY â Paintings by Desiree Alvarez are on view at Minor Memorial Library, 23 South Street, until Saturday, February 13.
Ms Alvarez infuses her art with wit and charm and brings to each work an exquisite palette of luscious color. Artist-in-residence at PS 122 in New York City and at Yaddo, the artistsâ working retreat in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., she has exhibited her paintings and fabric art across the country and around the world.Â
The artist cites the many weekends she spent at her great auntâs home in Bridgewater as inspiration for her views on the âseamless relationshipâ between Nature and humans. Each of her paintings, she says, is âa wish for ... peace between us and our world.â
The exhibition can be viewed any time the library is open: Monday, noon to 7 pm; Wednesday, 10 am to 7 pm; Thursday, noon to 5 pm; Friday, 10 am to 5 pm; and Saturday, 10 am to 2 pm. Call the library at 860-350-2181 for additional information and directions.
