Hawley’s Fifth Grade News

All of the fifth grade classes went on a field trip to a museum in New York! In Mr Roodhuyzen’s class the students are starting decimals. They are adding and subtracting decimals. They continue to do writer’s workshop. They are writing stories. They get to choose what they want to write about. They also had a writing prompt. They are still doing spelling stories. They are working on expository writing. They have book buddies with Mrs Leja’s class every Friday. They are going to have a game of math softball. They are having a lot of fun in everything. In Mr Wilkinson’s class they have interviews with the eighth grade class for social studies (Civil War) and the book they’re reading, the Little Burglar. They took a science test. They are working on their ecosystems. They are doing shapes in math.
