History
The breed was developed in Germany by crossing a variety of breeds, including a German bird dog and a Spanish Pointer, as well as local scenting hounds bred in for tracking skills and English pointers to add quickness and grace. These dogs combined created a very powerful hunter.
Statuesque
Noble and well-balanced, the breed ranges in height from 23 to 25 inches tall and weighs between 55 and 70 pounds and comes in solid liver or liver and white.
