BRIDES: A Note Of Thanks

This was my second year to be the editor of BRIDES, and I still love working

on this ongoing project. Regardless of anyone's background and circumstances,

weddings should always be joyous celebrations. I hope the information

contained in BRIDES 1999 will offer a few suggestions and ideas that will help

make your special day as memorable as possible, and move smoothly from start

to finish.

As with every project, there are a number of people who have contributed their

time and talent to making BRIDES 1999 a beautiful collection of ideas and

information. I need specifically make note of Melanie and Jay Mattegat once

again, the co-owners of Julie Allen Bridals in Newtown. Melanie and Jay are

consistently supportive and helpful with innumerable ideas for this special

section, and once again provided a number of models and beautiful dresses for

the photographs found on these pages.

Also, a thank you to our models: Erin Carolyn, Gianine Crowell, Sarah Hirou,

Jacey Mattegat, Hallie Pierce, Catherine Symes, and Julia Trudell.

To the reporting staff of Bee Publishing Co. and freelance writer Joanne

Rochman, I also thank all of you for the time you devoted to your stories.

And to Alisa Maher in particular (such patience!... and congratulations on

your own upcoming wedding this fall) and the entire production department at

Bee Publishing Co., thank you for all the work that went into the design and

layout of the ads, stories, photographs and pages of this bridal section.

Planning BRIDES took nearly as much effort as a wedding, and now it is time to

celebrate. My best wishes to you on the beginning of a new life with someone

you have fallen in love with.
