Alice Burout Clarkson, 77, of Easton, wife of the late Gerald O. Clarkson, died February 21 at St Vincentâs Medical Center in Bridgeport following a brief illness with cancer. She was the daughter of the late Estelle Schumann Burout and Charles Joseph Burout.
Her sister, Delores Bossuet of Newtown and her brother, Charles J. Burout, Jr of Huntington, will miss her. She is also survived by her two sons, Scott Clarkson of Weston, Vt., and Todd Clarkson of Easton; two grandchildren, Jamie and Parker; and daughter-in-law, Martha, of Weston, Vt.; and several nieces and nephews.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs Clarkson was raised on Boston Avenue in Bridgeport and graduated from Warren Harding High School in 1947. She was employed for many years at General Electric on Boston Avenue. On April 19, 1958, she married Gerald O. Clarkson and then resided in Easton.
Mrs Clarkson held various positions in Easton including library aide at Helen Keller Middle School, administrative assistant in the Town Clerkâs office at the Easton Town Hall and administrative assistant at Notre Dame Church of Easton.
 Socially, she was a member of the Fayerweather Yacht Club of Bridgeport and was part of the Womenâs Auxiliary of the club. She will be fondly remembered by all for her kind heart, open arms, and sympathetic ears. All were welcome in her home.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Wednesday, March 7, at 10 am in Notre Dame Catholic Church of Easton, 640 Morehouse Road. Inurnment will be in the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown. Friends may call on Tuesday, March 6, from 4 to 8 pm in the Cyril F. Mullins Trumbull Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
