Encouraging The Love Of Learning

To the Editor,

Newtown Youth Services has just completed a six-week program of after school activities for elementary and middle school aged youth to encourage their love of learning, teach them new skills, meet new friends, and have just plain fun. We would like to take this opportunity to thank both the participants in the programs:

Elementary School Crafts Programs: Caitlin Collier, Catherine Foster, Kristen Shortt, Deepa Bansal, Shawna King, Becky Bombero, Sarah O’Sullivan, and Patrick Sousa.

Middle School Programs – “How Things Work”: Lydia Anderson of the Big “Y”; Dorrie Carolan at Newtown Health and Fitness; Shannon Hicks at The Newtown Bee; Jay Willey of Curtis Packaging; Mark Ingram at Charter Communication; Dan Leroux at Image One; and Joe Sigler at TC Cycle assisted by Brian Shepard.

Our many thanks to these and all of our volunteers who work tirelessly for the support of Newtown’s youth.

Sincerely,

Newtown Youth Services Staff

Debbie Richardson, Director

Jane Todorski, Assistant Director

Anita Arnold, Office Manager

Roseanne Loring, Program and Parent Educator Coordinator
