Edward J. Healy, 78, a longtime resident of Danbury, died February 9, at his home. Mr Healy was born June 4, 1931, in New York City, the son of Elizabeth (Hayes) and John Healy.
He is survived by three children, including Annmarie Durkin and her husband, Edward J., of Sandy Hook; two grandchildren; a brother-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Mary; his daughter, Margaret Therese; a brother and a sister.
Mr Healy served in the US Army. He was a research chemist for Nabisco Brands, now Kraft Foods, until his retirement. A quiet man, he enjoyed reading, gardening, and mostly spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed by his family, including his faithful dog, Ted.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated February 16. Interment will follow at St Peter Cemetery in Danbury.
