Two Charged in Burglaries and Larcenies
Police report they charged two young people with 30 criminal counts each,
stemming from various burglaries and larcenies they allegedly committed
earlier this year at local homes.
Police charged Terry Parker, 19, of Fir Tree Lane, Sandy Hook, and Ukiah
Cunningham, 17, of Pine Street, Sandy Hook, on warrants June 14.
Police obtained court warrants for the arrests following a month-long
investigation by the police department's special investigations unit and the
field services unit. The arrests stem from a string of burglaries committed
during March and April.
Parker and Ms Cunningham, plus a third person whom the police plan to arrest
soon, allegedly were involved in thefts from seven homes. Items taken in the
burglaries include electronic appliances, jewelry, cash, and compact discs.
Some of the stolen items have been recovered, police said.
Police charged Parker and Ms Cunningham each with: seven counts of conspiracy
to commit third-degree burglary; seven counts of third-degree burglary; five
counts of conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny; five counts of
third-degree larceny; two counts of conspiracy to commit fourth-degree
larceny; two counts of fourth-degree larceny; one count of conspiracy to
commit credit card theft; and one count of credit card theft.
Police released Ms Cunningham after she posted a $10,000 bond. She is
scheduled for a July 2 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Parker was held on $10,00 bond and then arraigned in court June 17.
