According to a published report, toxicology tests indicate that Adam Lanza, 20, of Sandy Hook had no alcohol or drugs in his body when he used a semiautomatic rifle to kill 20 first-graders and six female educators at Sandy Hook School on December 14.

Those tests indicate that Lanza had no illegal drugs, such as cocaine or marijuana, in his body, and had no traces of psychiatric medications, such as antidepressants or antipsychotic drugs, in this body at the time of the incident, according to a report published this week in The Hartford Courant.

The Courant’s report lists “law enforcement sources familiar with the test results” as the source of the information.

The toxicology tests were performed as part of the autopsy done on Lanza’s remains by the chief state medical examiner’s office staff.

That autopsy determined that Lanza had killed himself with gunfire after he had killed 26 people at the school. Lanza had killed his mother with gunfire before the school shootings.

Both the chief state medical examiner’s office and the state police declined comment this week on the toxicology test results.

State police spokesman Lieutenant J. Paul Vance stressed, “The investigation is still under way… We’re striving to complete it as quickly as possible.”

Lt Vance said there is no date set for the police investigation’s completion.

State’s Attorney Stephen J. Sedensky III said May 15, “I have received the autopsy reports.”

Mr Sedensky declined to discuss the published report on the toxicology test results.

After the state police’s investigation into the school shooting incident is completed, Mr Sedensky will author a report on the matter that will be made public. He said he hopes to release that report by the end of this summer.
