*JOSS STONE’s Soul Sessions Live Tour will hit The Shubert Theater in New Haven on Saturday, October 13, and tickets will be available this Friday morning beginning at 10 am.

Reserved tickets will be available through www.Shubert.com, charge by phone at 800-228-6622, or at the theater’s box office at 247 College Street, priced at $38 and $48 plus service charges.

*Meanwhile, actor and singer MEAT LOAF will bring his iconic sound to Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, October 27, at 8 pm. Tickets are $30 and went on sale last weekened — my apologies for not letting you know about this in advance, but a girl needs a vacation on occasion and I took one last week — TicketMaster online, TicketMaster’s Charge By Phone number (800-745-3000), TicketMaster outlets, and Mohegan Sun’s box office.

The good news is, if you’re looking to pick up tickets sooner rather than later there are still seats available in all sections including the rear floor area.

*Local jazz guys Thom Gomez and Rick Sadlon, a/k/a GOMEZ&SADLON, will return this weekend to The Twisted Vine Restaurant in Derby. The duo will be there from 7:30 to 10:30 pm Saturday night, performing their popular jazz, pop, rock and even some country musical selections.

The restaurant is at 285 Main Street (Route 34) in Derby. There is no cover charge, but if dining, reservations for the Birmingham Cellar are recommended by calling 203-734-2462.

Meanwhile, you can hear a sample of the music of Gomez&Sadlon at www.myspace.com/smoothjazzexpressions.

*Ives Concert Park’s Fine Arts & Family Series has added a new show to celebrate Labor Day weekend.

Called “Country Music Under the Stars,” the special event will feature performances by GOLDRUSH and THE TOWN HALL BAND, and country dance lessons by DJ Alan Kohn. The recent addition to the calendar of the venue on the westside campus of Western Connecticut State University in Danbury (43 Lake Avenue) will take place Saturday, September 1.

Goldrush is the Newtown based band that features MaryBeth Sippin in the lead vocals role, while The Town Hall Band is the summer moniker for the performers who have been performing as The Flagpole Radio Café Orchestra for a few years now. The band features Jim Allyn, Rob Bonaccorso, Rick Brodsky, Howard Bujese, Dick Neal and Francine Wheeler. Between the two groups, attendees can expect a full evening of country, American roots, bluegrass, and picking & fiddling.

Gates will be opening at 6:30 and the music will begin an hour later. Tickets are $15 for adults, and $10 for students, seniors and ages 12 and under, while family four-packs are available for $40, plus service charges (for all tickets).

Tickets can be ordered through CountryMusicUnderTheStars.eventbrite.com or; additional information is available by calling 203-837-9226.

Until next week, I’ll be seeing you… on the road.
