The following Newtown residents graduated from Sacred Heart University in May. Edward Taylor Kimble IV received a professional sixth year certificate degree in administration. Ralph Thomas Wilson, Jr received a master of science degree in computer science. Sara E. Frampton received a master of art in teaching degree in education. Thomas Richard Denninger received a bachelor of science degree in exercise science. Patricia A. Philipp received a bachelor of science degree in nursing completion program. The following Sandy Hook residents recently graduated from Sacred Heart University: Jeffrey Joseph LaBianco received a bachelor of science degree in biology, Nicholas R. Savino received a bachelor of science degree in business, William J. McCarthy received a master of business administration degree, Lisa Carino, Kevin J. OâHara and Michael G. Pierce all received their master of art in teaching degrees in education, Randall Ralph Dieckman received a bachelor of science degree in general studies, Caitlin L. Ryan received a bachelor of arts degree in political science.
Rachel Stern has been named to the Deanâs List at Bates College as a result of her scholastic standing for the spring semester. Rachel just completed her sophomore year and is a member of the debate team at Bates.
Larisa Maria Zaleta, a social work major at Providence College has been named to the Deanâs List for the spring semester. Larisa will be entering her senior year and will continue her internship at Sterling Memorial School in Oneco, Conn.
Newtown resident Jill Medinger was named to the Deanâs List at Smith College for her academic achievement for the 2004â2005 school year. Jill graduated from Wooster School and will be entering her sophomore year at Smith.
Sarah Elizabeth Adams-Shepherd has been named to the Deanâs List at Curry College for the spring semester.
Melissa Landin has been named to the Deanâs List at Fairfield University. This past year Melissa along with another student in the Studio Art Class created a straw sculpture project entitled, Architectural Distortion. It was chosen to be displayed at an exhibit at the Quick Center for the Arts. After studying abroad at the London School of Economics this summer Melissa will return to Fairfield University and serve as a director of special events during her junior year.
