Lunch & Learn About Arthritis

A free Lunch and Learn Program for the community titled, “Common Types of Arthritis — An Overview” will be held Wednesday, June 3, in the Lodge Room at Masonicare at Newtown. Dr Michael A. Cassetta of the Fairfield County Medical Group will present the program. A complimentary lunch will be served at noon, and the program will begin at 12:15 pm.

Arthritis is a group of conditions involving damage to the joints of the body. It is not just one disease; it is a complex disorder that comprises more than 100 distinct conditions that can affect people at any stage of life, and each has a different cause. Dr Cassetta will present an overview of three of the most common forms — rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and gout — and offer information on the latest treatment options available for these painful and often debilitating diseases.

Masonicare at Newtown sponsors the Lunch and Learn series to provide the public with important and timely health and wellness information. There is no fee for the program, but seating is limited. Those wishing to attend should call the Masonicare HelpLine at 888-679-9997 to make a reservation.
