After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, on Friday, September 28, a 20-year-old Norwalk resident turned himself over to police at the police station and was charged with stalking and with breach of peace, according to police spokesman Lieutenant Aaron Bahamonde.

The lieutenant said that the charges stem from a past incident in which the Norwalk man allegedly followed a female in his vehicle and on foot to several businesses in town and then continued following her to her residence. The Norwalk man and the victim were unknown to each other, Lt Bahamonde said.

The victim, while being followed, called police when she feared for her safety and was able to provide police with a description of the Norwalk man and the vehicle that he was driving, so police were able to track the Norwalk man down. Lt Bahamonde said the Norwalk man admitted to police that he had been following the victim.

After arrest processing, police released the Norwalk man on $10,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Connecticut Superior Court in Danbury on October 10 for an arraignment on the charges.

Lt Bahamonde noted that on September 14, Monroe police arrested the Norwalk man following an incident in which he allegedly exposed himself and masturbated in front of a female victim who was pumping gas at a gas station.

After an investigation, Monroe police said they charged the Norwalk man with public indecency and breach of peace following the incident at the Cumberland Farms gas station/convenience store at 455 Main Street, Monroe.

At his arraignment in Connecticut Superior Court in Bridgeport on September 24, the Norwalk man did not plead to those charges. the Norwalk man remains free on $1,000 bail in connection with those charges for an October 22 court appearance.

Of the Norwalk man’s arrests, Lt Bahamnonde commented, “This individual is of great concern and danger to the public ... Both victims did an outstanding job in helping police identify and locate the suspect... The victims were able to remain calm in these most dangerous and high stress situations, and provided police with all the necessary information to help identify and locate this individual.”
