Of The Month

Laura Ermini

Laura Ermini, a junior at Newtown High School, has been selected as the

Newtown Rotary Club's student of the month for March. She was nominated by the

school's foreign language department.

Laura has been a member of the International Club, has represented the

department at the state foreign language poetry contest, and has presented a

demonstration in Spanish at a recent NHS faculty meeting. She has also started

teaching herself German and plans to take a Russian course next year. She has

already been inducted into the Spanish Honor Society.

In addition to her capabilities in languages, Laura is also the secretary of

the junior class, vice president of the Guidance Honor Association and captain

of the girls' swim team. She is a member of the marching and concert bands.

Her future plans include continuing with her foreign languages, attending

college and pursuing a medical career.

Laura is the daughter of Janet and Tom Ermini.
