Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to 64 calls during the period of March 4-17.

There were 38 medical calls: respiratory, 6; cardiac, 8; other seizure, 4; diabetic, 1; miscellaneous medical, 19.

Standby/other: 6.

There were 20 trauma calls: 13 vehicular, 7 non-vehicular.

Fifty persons were transported to the hospital; 14 were not transported.

The age groups: Infant to age 8, 1 call; ages 9-21, 10; ages 22-60, 30; over 60, 23.

Thirty-two were males, 32 females.

Time of day: midnight to 8 am, 11 calls; 8 am to 4 pm, 29; 4 pm to midnight: 24.
