ON THE ROAD FOR JULY 4

Just about a month after THE NIELDS made their first appearance at Tuxedo

Junction in Danbury, the band is back for more. The group returns next

Thursday (July 10) for an all ages show.

Also next Thursday night is a show by HUEY LEWIS AND THE NEWS at the Oakdale

Theatre in Wallingford. I'm watching "VH-1 Video Pop-Up" - an entertaining,

yet slightly irritating show - a few months back when they show the video for

"I Want A New Drug." Apparently the red suit Lewis wore in that video had fans

- to no surprise, I would think - calling it "The Red Suit Video," which

bugged Lewis to no end. But didn't he go around wearing that suit, or a number

of similar ones, all the time around the time Sports was so high on the

charts?

P.T. Barnum's birthday observance is Saturday, July 5th, so if you are looking

for a reason to extend your Independence Day celebration from Friday into the

weekend, there you have it: Go to Bridgeport museum bearing his name and party

hard.
