Irene A. (Lisko) Kandro

Irene A. (Lisko) Kandro, 82, of Bridgeport, died March 16 in Ashlar of Newtown. She was the widow of the late Augustine A. Kandro.

She was the mother of Andrea Joy of Newtown.

She was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport and had been associated with Frisbie Pie Company, Remington Arms, and Warnaco. She was a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokols.

She is also survived by her daughter, Arlene Untenberg of Stratford; five grandchildren, Andrea McGowan, Walter Kandro, III, Jestine Williams, Erik Carlson, and Melissa Carlson; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held on March 20 in the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, corner of West Broad Street, Stratford, and in Sts Cyril and Methodius Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment was in St Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
