O'Malley To Head Credit Union

Edward O'Malley was appointed president/CEO at Western Connecticut Federal
Credit Union, according to Linda vonAhn, chairman of the board, WCFCU.
Accepting the leadership responsibilities at WCFCU, Mr O'Malley identifies
several major issues on which the organization will immediately focus its
efforts: provide better member services, increase membership and deliver more
technology, enabling new services.
Mr O'Malley brings to WCFCU over 25 years' experience in the financial
industry. Most recently he was a partner in the accounting firm of Ruzek
O'Malley Wall, joining the firm in 1986 and primarily concentrating his
efforts with corporate clients in audit, consulting and tax matters.
He served for six years as controller of the Financial Accounting Standards
Board and the Government Accounting Standards Board in Stamford.
Mr O'Malley previously served as manager of treasury operations for a public
utility company and assistant treasurer of a private international
construction company. He also spent three years as a member of the audit staff
of Arthur Young & Company, New York.
Mr O'Malley received a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Fordham
University. He received his MBA in finance from the University of Connecticut
and is a certified public accountant. He is a member of the American Institute
of Certified Public Accountants and The Connecticut State Society of Certified
Public Accountants. He has been a licensed CPA since 1985 in Connecticut.
He has also taught all upper level accounting (advanced accounting 1 and 2,
auditing, contemporary accounting theory, intermediate, financial and
managerial accounting), corporate and individual tax and finance courses at
Fairfield University and Western Connecticut State University, and was an
Assistant Professor at Teikyo Post University from 1986 to 1991. He has also
conducted preparatory courses for CPA Exam candidates for O'Malley's CPA
Review and Person & Wolinsky.
He was president of the Parish Council for Saint Elizabeth Seton Church,
Ridgefield. He resides in Danbury.
